UFL DLL Error When Previewing or Printing an AccountMate Report
Those darned MS-Windows updates!
Another issue that’s laid at the feet of Microsoft Windows updates, and sometimes installation of other programs too, is changes to DLLs (Dynamic Linked Libraries), which can impact many applications including AccountMate.

The Symptom
Previewing or printing an AccountMate report—typically the Customer Invoice, Customer Sales Order or Vendor Purchase Order—fails to render, instead giving the error:
UFL ‘u212com.dll’ that implements this function is missing.

The Solution(s)
Reinstall the Client Run-Time Files
The majority of the time, simply reinstalling the client runtime files on the workstation that’s experiencing the problem will fix the issue. Details are here: Client Installation Procedures | NexLAN and, as it says there, be SURE to run the installation program with <right click> Run as Administrator.
If You’re Still Stuck
In the rare cases where reinstalling the runtime files doesn’t resolve the error:
- Find the file u212com.dll on an operational workstation and then copy it to the same directory on the problem workstation. Most likely, the file path will be: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86
- Manually register the DLL via a “command prompt” as detailed here: How to Register a DLL (with Pictures) – wikiHow

In AM/SQL V13.1 and beyond…
The error might not actually be u212com.dll. Sure the error message will SAY it’s u212com.dll, but it may be the related CRUFLAMF.dll that’s not registered…
Again, simply reinstalling the runtime files should, fingers crossed, resolve the issue but, if not, then just as above.
