At NexLAN we firmly believe in keeping your data in more than one place. While running a regular backup is essential, making sure that a copy of that backup is kept off site is just as vital.
The same rule holds true for your personal information (even though it has nothing to do with AccountMate or technology solutions).
Every January I take all of the cards out of my wallet, line them up facedown on a Xerox machine and hit copy. Everything is flipped over, a copy is made of the backs, and the pages are filed until next year.
Though the process takes only a few minutes, it will save countless hours of time if my wallet is lost or stolen. Instead of having to hunt for credit card numbers, health insurance contact information, and proof of identity, all of my data is in two places: my wallet and my files.

AccountMate is in the news again!
ACCOUNTMATE GETS CRM
”As it promotes its Synergy reseller conference, scheduled for next month, AccountMate noted it will be rolling out CRM for AccountMate. The package also handles BPA and SFA functions. (What’s a tech newsletter without acronyms, anyway?)”
– Bob Scott, Consulting Insights column, Accounting Technology
If you’ve been working hard to “get a handle” on Customer Relationship Management, we have a new solution for you.
CRM for AccountMate will be officially unveiled at Synergy, AccountMate’s national conference in February. While NexLAN will be in attendance at the conference, we have had the privilege of a sneak preview.
AccountMate’s CRM solution boasts diverse functionality and provides a comprehensive set of answers to a variety of customer relationship issues. We are impressed by its tight integration with existing AccountMate modules as well as with many other technology solutions.
Stay tuned for more details.
TechNote
Many consumers consider the credit card to be a valuable commodity. Even multi-million dollar companies take advantage of credit cards because they are convenient, safe, and allow financial leverage. If not properly managed, however, this practice could yield unexpected or extra credit card charges. AccountMate provides a function in the Bank Reconciliation module to handle credit card charges. This week’s technical note discusses the procedures to record check payments and automatic bank account deductions for credit card charges using the Record Checks/Disbursements function of the Bank Reconciliation module.
