Dear AccountMate Clients,

The official ship date hasn’t been announced, but the New Features Webinar for the soon-to-be-released AccountMate/SQL V9.1 has been scheduled for Thursday, March 20th at noon CST – so it won’t be long!

Hit this link to register and check out all functionality that’s been added.  While the list of new features isn’t official until the product ships, some of them we’re expecting to see include: a redesigned shortcut pane, enhanced audit trail and user access rights maintenance, GL reporting may span fiscal years, numerous reports have been enhanced to allow TWO sort orders to be defined on the fly, ability to configure inventory costing to “standard cost”, additional filters to numerous reports  for inventory type/class/product, import of physical count data, improved prompting/reporting of kit component shortages, drop ship functionality (to create a PO during SO entry, then ship SO during PO receipt), easier write-off of open customer credits, ability to create ACH file for automatic payment withdrawal for customer payment, option to show backordered items on customer invoices, and – yes – lots more!

If you’re currently running AccountMate SQL or SQL/Express and have an active Lifecycle Maintenance plan, then remember you receive the new version of the software as one of the benefits of that plan – however installation, configuration, and porting forward your existing data and modifications is a billable event.  Of course we provide free not-to-exceed hours quotes for upgrading your system, so please contact us for that information and to get on what we’re sure will be a very full upgrade schedule over the next few months.

Regards,

Kevin E. Stroud

Q: I need to show some standard messages or remarks on every AR invoice, such as making sure customer note a change in our mailing address.  How can I make this happen?

A: For a one-time remark on an invoice, you can just enter text in the large box available on the bottom right of the “Information” tab of the <Create Sales Order> screen, or at the bottom of the “Information” tab of the <Create Invoice> screen.  If you’ll be using the same remark numerous times, such as noting a change in remit-to address, then click on the underlined “Remark #” label and define a system wide remark which you can then easily select at any time.
