AccountMate has announced the conclusion of testing for LAN 6.5.  The new version has been released to manufacturing and has an expected ship date of June 15, 2005.

AccountMate 6.5 for LAN is new version, meaning the enhancements are far more substantial than those contained in a new build.  LAN 6.5 has a whole new look – literally!  The version includes the re-designed interface already incorporated into SQL 6.5.

According to AccountMate, the most highly requested features incorporated into the new version include:

  • Lookup enhancement including customization
  • Kitting Module available
  • Lot Control Module available
  • System Manager Source Code available
  • Error Log program
  • Developed and compiled with Visual FoxPro 9
  • Support of Windows 2003 Server
  • New On-line Help
  • New Electronic Documentation
  • Expanded Sample Company data

With this version release, AccountMate can boast that across all product lines there is the same user interface, ease of use, configuration of modules and all are source code modifiable.  Seems to be an industry “first”!

How do you get your copy?

  • LAN clients with a current LifeCycle Maintenance plan will be receiving a copy in the mail automatically. Please contact us to coordinate installation.

  • If you do not have a current Support Plus plan, but would like to upgrade your system, please let us know.

What about SQL?

Don’t feel left out!  AccountMate 7.0 for SQL is still expected to be released before the end of the year.  We’re eagerly anticipating the list of enhancements and new features that will be incorporated in the new version and will keep you posted as we learn more details.

Accounting Technology Announces 2005 Killer VARs

Each year Accounting Technology recognizes a select number of VARs who represent the best of the nation’s accounting software solutions providers. NexLAN is honored to be selected as one of only eleven VARs for 2005.

Robert Scott, Editor-in-Chief of Accounting Technology, writes, “Every year I am involved in selecting a Killer VAR or a Pacesetter, I come back to one conclusion–that success is in the plan and its execution.”

In Unlocking the Secrets of Success: The Leaders of 2005 Share Their Insights, NexLAN is praised for the commitment to developing solid relationships with customers, leading industry vendors, and local business organizations.

“In a small market like Danville, Ill., building relationships is critical,” the article explains, quoting NexLAN President Kevin Stroud as saying, “In consulting, it’s about relationships.  Mid-tier accounting vendors will tell you it’s not.  But at the VAR level, it’s about the customer relationship.”

We thank Bob Scott and Accounting Technology for the honor and look forward to continuing and growing our relationships with all of our clients.

With this new feature you can more efficiently pay AP invoices with a credit card. This week’s TechNote provides the steps necessary to use this feature and discusses its effect on the General Ledger.

Article 1174: How to Take Advantage of the Credit Card Vendor Feature in AccountMate 6.5 for SQL/MSDE

Once you understand the AccountMate AP Credit Card Vendor feature, you’ll need to consider the receivable counterpart of credit card payments– the AR Credit Card feature.
