Dear AccountMate Clients;
You know how the first item yesterday afternoon’s NexLAN/AccountMate NewsLine was all about how easy it is to make a typo? Well how apropos that it included a typo! <grin>
As numerous recipients replied, the fiscal period to lock isn’t January 2008, it’s January 2007.
Our apologies for the typo – and the section is reprinted below in it’s entirety with the correct year stated.
Here’s hoping that I now have my quota of typos fulfilled for 2008!
Regards,
Kevin E. Stroud

Lock your January 2007 fiscal period
Every year we have a handful of clients who call because someone has typo-ed the year in a transaction and it has posted 12 months back. The best (and simplest) way to prevent this is to lock January 2007.
In General Ledger, head to Housekeeping > Posting Period Restrictions. Check the boxes for each module to restrict posting in that period.
