According to a recent article by Laura Preslan, Research Director for AMR Research, Inc., “Every lead is precious, yet interviews with small businesses conducted by AMR Research reveal that small businesses do not follow up on up to 70 percent of all leads, representing as much as 14–22 percent of annual revenue.

“The revenue gained from following up on three of those previously lost leads often covers the cost of a contact, lead, account, and case management system.”

AccountMate understands the cost of even a single lost lead and, as mentioned in our previous NewsLines, has provided an answer with INFOtrac for AccountMate, an integrated CRM solution.

Tech Notes

Understanding how the methods used for computing finished job costs affect production variances is an important aspect of understanding the manufacturing process. AccountMate’s Manufacturer’s Inventory system provides three different options by which to calculate finished job cost in manufacturing inventory items. This week’s Technical Note discusses how the system calculates finished job costs using these three methods including the calculation of production variances. It also shows the appropriate GL entries for each method.
