Dear AccountMate Clients;
While all of our NewsLines are full of information, this issue is packed from beginning to end with vital information for your accounting system – whether you run the SQL, Express, or LAN product.
As in previous years, we have returned from our annual trip to Chicago for AccountMate’s Regional Roundtable meeting with lots of exciting news about product developments. We strongly encourage you to take the time to read this NewsLine in its entirety, and, as always, we are available to answer any questions that may arise.
Regards,
Kevin E. Stroud

News from Chicago
As we mentioned, NexLAN recently attended the annual Regional Roundtable gathering, hosted by AccountMate. Chicago was the second stop on AccountMate’s cross-country tour to exchange ideas with Business Partners, gather feedback, and announce product developments.
Nearly three dozen Business Partners were in attendance from the central region, representing 10 states. As always, AccountMate’s executive were receptive to ideas and suggestions and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with them.
SQL/Express News
The time has come to begin planning for AccountMate 7 for SQL/Express. AccountMate 7.2 for SQL/Express is expected to be released to manufacturing this month, shipping in November. As you know, we’ve been running AccountMate 7.1 in-house and are happy to report that we feel confident implementing the new build at client sites.
We generally recommend upgrading every other build and for many of our SQL clients, which means we’re expecting to roll you forward to AccountMate 7.2. Upgrading your system to the new version must be done immediately following a month-end close and if you run Payroll, we strongly suggest that you wait for the end of a quarter to move forward.
- If you have a current LifeCycle Maintenance agreement, we will be in touch with you within the week to discuss plans to upgrade your system. Remember, you’ll receive your automatic shipment of the new CDs in the mail. Keep them in a safe place until we’re ready for them.
- If you have a current Standard Maintenance agreement, we will also be in touch with you within the week. We’ll provide you with a software upgrade quote and discuss your budget as well as the best timeline for your business.
- If you do not have a current AccountMate maintenance agreement, we strongly suggest that you look at your upgrading options, including getting back on an active maintenance plan.
Manufacturer’s support for AccountMate 6.5 for SQL/MSDE will end on July 31, 2007 – more than one year after the release of AccountMate 7. While we are happy to continue supporting your current system beyond this date, we are likely to find limitations once coverage by the manufacturer is unavailable. Fortunately, we have more than 9 months to plan for this event.

LAN News
AccountMate for LAN (Build 603) is expected to be released to manufacturing this month, shipping in November. If you have a current software maintenance agreement (either LifeCycle or Standard Maintenance), the new CDs will ship directly to you.
What to do with that shipment? In short, put it in a very safe place and give us a call. We’ll discuss your upgrade options and work together to determine the best plan for rolling your system forward.

We’re already running the new version of INFOtrac in-house and have been notified by AccuDart that their updated version is ready for end-users. If you are leveraging the power of one or more of these vertical solutions, rest assured that they will be ready to move with you to the new version.
