AccountMate is hosting a “Business Partner Round Table Two Day Conference” in Chicago next month. We do all the typical conference stuff of hearing about new product development and are introduced to third party applications that enhance and extend functionality.

Something unique in the mid-tier financial market though, is towards the end of the conference when we have a session where the AccountMate staff has compiled a list of the submitted enhancement requests – and all the Business Partners in attendance get to “vote” to help prioritize them.

We have until Friday, August 16th to submit them for consideration in the consolidated list.  I’d like to solicit your input as to what features you’d like to see added to the product?  Certainly submissions are appreciated other times, and are regularly added to the list, but this is a prime opportunity so want to be sure to take advantage of it.

I’m not aware of any other mid-tier financial management vendor that allows such direct feedback to product development, thus making the feature set so responsive to the ever-evolving needs of the user base.

Tech Notes: Implementing Language Translation in AccountMate

The AccountMate Language feature allows you to add languages that you can assign to individual users. While AccountMate does not maintain the actual translation tables, the product is designed in a manner that will make it easier for the users to build their own language files.

We revisit a Technical Note that serves as a guide for a new language version implementation in an AccountMate installation. This article discusses the AccountMate table, table fields and files that are relevant in a new language version implementation. Versions: AM8 for SQL and Express (AM8.3 or higher)

Module: GL

Tip: When you assign IFRS compliant Account Categories to your company’s existing Account Groups, AccountMate will automatically assign IFRS compliant Account Categories to the Account Groups’ related GL Account IDs. Ensure that the Account Groups and GL Accounts are classified under the correct Account Category. It is highly recommended that you run the Statement of Financial Position and the Statement of Comprehensive Income to review the presentation of your company’s Account Groups and GL Account IDs.

Tip: AccountMate 8 allows you to filter or search for GL Account IDs easier using the GL Segment Filter window. To access this window, simply press Shift+F4 on any GL Account ID input field.

TIP: The new Received Refused Inventory Report, which is available starting in AccountMate 8.3 for SQL/Express, provides information about previously shipped line item quantities that the customers refused and returned; and for which you recorded a receipt in AccountMate. Note that this report is available only when the Inventory Acceptance feature is activated in SO Module Setup.
