In-House Payroll

In Payroll by Kevin Stroud

Dear AccountMate Clients,

We typically only publish one NewsLine per month, but AccountMate doesn’t usually offer a special 2-day payroll-only training class—so don’t want this opportunity to pass by without you taking a good look at it as there’s something for everybody here!

Do you run payroll in-house?

Then you know AccountMate payroll has some powerful features, but do you use them?  The class will cover “the basics,” plus more complicated features such as:Superhero in red cape says account man fighting the evils of non-integrated systems!!

  • Employer matching and age break options for Deduction—both especially useful for 401(k)
  • Import of time cards from your time-clock system
  • Automatic ACH file creation for paying employees via direct deposit
  • Paid Leave accrual per hour worked, or per pay period or annually with “annually” defined as beginning of the calendar year or your fiscal year, or even the anniversary of the employee’s hire date

Do you have payroll out-sourced?

Then you’re working hard to get your payroll processing company the information which you could just be putting into AccountMate and then you’d have, in addition to all the functionality above, integration to your General Ledger (so no journal entries required!) and your Bank Reconciliation module.

The AccountMate payroll module is priced the same as any other module and isn’t dependent on the number of users, or companies, or even employees you’re processing—so the investment to enable this is low.  Please note there is an annual payroll tax update required, which is priced at $700/year, but there’s always been a 10% early-bird discount and we’re expecting that to come around soon for 2020.

Oh, but your payroll processor does all of your tax filings?  Well, so does AccountMate—including as many states as you need and even W-2 printing/mailing/e-mailing to all employees.

It’s possible to do a mid-year conversion to AccountMate payroll, but is easier if “going live” January 1st—so worth considering now to save money, save effort, and have faster turn-around of your payroll while still possible to sign up for the class.  Meanwhile, we’re happy to demo the module for you and discuss if this is a good move for you.

The special 2-day payroll-only class is October 16-17 at AccountMate headquarters in Petaluma, CA and tuition is $1,500 per attendee.  Please contact us to register!

We’ve been holding our breath for the release of AccountMate/SQL V11.1—and just received notice that it will ship September 12th.  Full details will be in our October 1st NewsLine, but here’s the link to sign up for the New Features Webinar, which will be Thursday, October 10th from noon to 1:30PM CDT.
