Dear AccountMate Clients,

Probably the greatest single strength of AccountMate is its flexibility – not only in being able to customize its internal functionality, but how the architecture supports so many numerous third party enhancements.

While I regularly mention such options here, this month we present two new ones that could be vitally important to you and your organization: TIW/Alere Manufacturing, for HEAVY DUTY Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), and X-Charge integrated credit/debit card processing.

While TIW/Alere Manufacturing has actually been available as an AccountMate add-on for a while, the partnership has recently been stepped up and we’re seeing a lot of interest from our more complex manufacturing clients.

Also, a robust solution for processing credit card payments has been on the wishlist of many of our clients and X-Charge is a tried and true solution now integrated to Accountmate at everyone’s favorite software price: free!

Details on how to learn more of each of these is below – and we hope they make the new year your best yet!

Haven’t posted a running update in a while, so several clients have asked if I’m still “pickin’em up and puttin’em down”?  The answer is, of course!  Mileage wasn’t great through the second half of last year, but am deep into my training cycle for The Boston Marathon this coming April 16th – my sixth in a row.  Don’t expect I’ll beat my time of 3:06:20 last year (putting me in the top 10% of the finishers in this elite field) but should have a respectable run based on my current splits.

Regards,

TIW/ALERE Manufacturing Webinar

AccountMate’s built-in Manufacturing module is a great solution for “simple manufacturing”, but for client installations with a higher level of complexity TIW/ALERE Manufacturing is an integrated solution that provides the ability to manage HEAVY DUTY Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) operations with complex work order routing and scheduling, variable and modular bills-of-material, and outsourced manufacturing operations.

A free webinar will be presented on Wednesday, February 22nd, at noon (CST) and is a don’t miss if you’re currently using AccountMate’s Manufacturing Module!

Tech Notes: Understanding the Multi-Step Processing of Work Orders in the Manufacturing Module

AccountMate 8 for SQL and Express introduces a feature that provides users an option to set up bills of materials in multiple steps. It also provides users the flexibility to either simultaneously post into work in process all the steps in a work order or post the components until a certain step. In AM8 for SQL/Express the inventory item component quantities that are required for manufacturing the parent item are allocated during work order explosion unlike in older AccountMate versions where allocation is done only when the job is posted to work in process. This enhancement allows users to obtain Allocated Quantity information in a timely manner.

Today we publish a Technical Note that discusses the enhancements in the work order processing including its effect on the inventory quantities. Click on the article’s title below for a downloadable PDF version.
