AccountMate 6.5 – Office Automation
Not only does AccountMate 6.5’s new interface provide a bright new “look”; it also includes additional Microsoft Office integration capability that increases the tools available to the users. The Power Toolbar conveniently offers instant access to Microsoft Excel, Word and Internet Explorer; and the Shortcut Pane provides the ability to customize program shortcuts to suit each users needs. Many AccountMate 6.5 users are already using the Shortcut pane as their “desktop”. Be sure to read this week’s TechNote to get the most out of the new interface.

The options displayed in the Maintenance toolbar vary depending upon which AccountMate functions or forms are opened. Under certain screen resolution settings some Maintenance toolbar options are hidden. This week’s TechNote explains how to access Maintenance toolbar options that may be hidden and discusses the purpose of each.

Q: To record the bin transfer of units of a serialized item; I must choose the serial numbers in the Move Item # [xxx] window; however, there are many serial numbers displayed in the window. How can I easily search for a serial number in this window?
A: Enter, in the Serial # field, a serial number of a unit of a serialized item. The system will automatically search for the serial number and will mark the corresponding Move checkbox.

Q: How would I know from the Inventory Maintenance function whether an item has substitutes set up?
A: Look at the Substitute Item # checkbox in the Information tab; if it is marked the item is configured for substitute items.

Q: In the computation of each master item’s total finished cost I need to include a percentage of the finished cost as overhead cost. How can I do this in AccountMate?
A: Access the General (1) tab of the MI Module Setup function; then, in the Finished Overhead Cost Calculation area, select the By Percentage rate option.

Q: What report should I generate to determine the equivalent amount in home currency that my local bank received from foreign customer payments that were deposited?
A: To determine the home currency value of the foreign customer payments that were deposited to your local bank, print the AR Bank Multi Currency Report. You can find this information under the Received Amt column.

Q: After I installed AccountMate 6.5 I noticed that there is no Forms folder. What did I miss?
A: Beginning with AccountMate 6.5, the Forms folder is not installed by default; it is created only if you install source code.

Q: How do I show the check number on the payroll check stub?
A: Mark the checkbox labeled Print Check # on Computer Check in the Printing tab of the PR Module Setup function.
